Program Information for Members Program Overview

The Aims

1. To be clean in body and pure in heart.

5. To love my neighbor as myself.

6. To respect the traditions and beliefs of all people.

7. To seek and preserve the beauty of our Creator's work in forest, field, and stream.

Patch Award Guidelines  

Recommendations for Awarding Patches:
1. The Circle Navigator will distribute all patches.
2. No more then 5 compass point patches shall be awarded per AG year with the exception of patch #1 and #17; the final compass patch can be awarded when the 16th patch has been earned and should be awarded by either the Circle Navigator or the Navigator.
3. Individual circles can determine how the Bulls-Eye(#16) compass point patch will be awarded.
4. Pattern should be assembled as pictured below.
5. Patches do not need to be awarded in sequence.
6. Parents will receive a smaller patch that does not have the compass points.



Patch # Compass Point Patch Description Awarded…
1 CENTER PATCH …when child and parent receive their vests
2 SUN …when child can recite the opening and closing prayer, pledge, and aims
3 PEOPLE …when child participates in a community service project
4 CIRCLE AND DOTS …when child can recite the AG names of other children in the group and has had one year of perfect (or near perfect) attendance at circle events
5 CRESCENT MOON …when group/circle, working together, has completed making some piece of group property (e.g. talking stick, property box, banner)
6 TENT & MOUNTAIN …when child has accomplished a significant personal achievement
7 BOAT DOCK …when child has reached a significant educational achievement
8 THEATER MASKS …when child has participated in an artistic activity (e.g. large-scale art project, choir, play)
9 CABIN …when child and parent have completed a craft or project other than a group/circle activity
10 FRYING PAN & FIRE …when child has participated in 80% of AG federation functions in one year
11 BIRDHOUSE & BIRD …when child and parent complete a nature-based project and make a presentation about it to their group/circle
12 FOOTPRINTS …when child has participated as a member of a sports team/organized physical activity (e.g. soccer, swimming, hiking club, dance, YMCA athletic activity, etc.)
13 SHOOTING STAR …when child and parent participate in a community function (i.e. community cleanup, parade)
14 GOLD STAR …when child and parent visit a local point of interest or government agency/building (i.e. City Hall, Fire Department)
15 DOGHOUSE …for child making a presentation about a pet or hobby to the group/circle
16 BULLS-EYE Special Project; open to the discretion of the group/circle leader
17 NORTH COMPASS POINT ...when all other compass-point patch pieces have been earned. The group/circle leader should make this presentation.
